The Academy 21 program is a good program for people who want to learn at their own pace, instead of learning about the Civil War, taking a test and moving on, even if it is a topic you enjoy, instead, you could do a full report, essay, or a response, instead of moving on.
There are some advantages of the Academy, not having to move from class to class every hour, having the freedom to learn at your own pace, collaborating with other students, planning your own field trips, advisory conferences, having your own blog to write posts about something you want to write about, not having teachers nag you to get your work done all the time, and having cubicles to decorate so you won't feel like you're sitting at a blank and boring desk that looks like anybody could sit there. There are a couple of disadvantages also, the teachers aren't always checking on the students to make sure they're working and not gaming and goofing around, and the Academy 21 program is only in the middle school so all of the eighth graders have to switch to the normal program when they get to high school.
Well, I enjoy reading your opinions here, but I would have to say you should be organizing your ideas into paragraphs. Also, I don't agree with the comment about teachers not regulating behaviors enough. I think those students who goof off do so regardless where they are.
